Actress Renée Zellweger (who starred in Bridget Jones' Diary and Chicago) has just sold her East Hampton house for $4.45 million.
The historic four-bedroom, three-bath gated farmhouse was built in 1900, and strikes the perfect balance between old and new, with everything restored and renovated—including a new gunite pool.
Located in the desired “south-of-the-highway” area, the house is within walking distance of the Village of East Hampton and the beach.
Featuring an open porch, shingled siding and nearly one acre of gardens and mature landscaping, the bright and airy house—which boasts a spacious 2,000-square-foot interior—is shielded by high hedges and tall trees.
Renée Zellweger stands to make a nice profit on the house, which was purchased—after a bidding war—for $250,000 more than her asking price when listed in October. She had purchased the house for $2.15 million in 2003.
The charming home's new owners are Dr. Jeffrey Geller, an orthopedic surgeon, and Leigh Geller, a former Manhattan assistant district attorney.
