EYE-CATCHING COLOR

One of the most prominent trends that comes around each year is Pantone’s Colour of The Year. The color seems to take over almost all design categories, becoming a main influence in fashion, beauty, art, and especially interiors. This years ‘Viva Magenta’ will have mood boards across the grid filled with vivacious pinks and electric purples. With this bold hue now at the forefront of design, Neville Johnson predicts that homeowners will be willing to take bigger risks when it comes to the color palette inside their homes.

“Shades of pink have been popular in 2022 and it looks like the popularity is only going to increase,” says Cari Bateman, Senior Designer at Neville Johnson. “We can see this color being used as a wonderful accent piece amongst more neutral designs in larger communal spaces within the home.”

NATURAL MATERIALS

Another interior design trend to look forward to is quite the opposite of the bright tones that push homeowners outside of comfort zones. 2023 is going to bring in natural tones and materials to create warmth and familiarity within spaces. Neutral color palettes and soft blonde woods will create a soft, airy atmosphere, making the complementary elements the perfect pairing this year.

Bateman, believes that the ‘natural’ shades are a rather timeless addition to any home. She also states: “We’re also seeing lots of interior designers and celebrities focus on tall wooden doors with integrated wooden handles – which Neville Johnson predicts is going to be one of the key interior trends for 2023.”

OLD TRENDS REIMAGINED

The year that once seemed like the future is taking a blast to the past with classic design elements such as paneling. The composition offers homeowners an easy way to give simple spaces a sense of depth and texture. Top designers at Neville Johnson believe this classic installation will follow us far into the future with contemporary twists.

“The popularity of acoustic panels is  showing no signs of slowing down,” adds Bateman. “Slatted wood walls and panelling have been extremely popular this year and is only gaining more momentum going in to 2023. Mixing both darker and lighter woods, again for that natural aesthetic is going to be a big trend. And if you took part in the panelling trend the previous year, repainting in a new shade will revitalize the space.
