Hare a few questions we posed to Anne Fisher about the Morris County Real Estate Market, the amenities it provides, and the qualities that make it a great place to live:

What local amenities does this area have to offer (parks, community center, recreation programs)?

Local Amenities include community theaters, parks, playgrounds, lakes, summer recreation programs, tennis courts, athletic complexes, golf courses, and museums.

Can you describe the local school system, and what type of education children get here (private, public, charter - focus on sports, the arts, etc.)?

Public and private schools are broken up as elementary, middle school and high school.  The public schools offer many sports and art programs.  There is a wide variety of private schools, which include religious, special education, all boys, all girls, and alternative.

What is the community culture like (i.e. private, gated, urban, diverse, etc)?

Community Culture ranges from private country clubs, lake communities, and residential developments.  We are a 35 minutes from the NYC, Liberty Science Center, The PAC in Newark, MetLife Sports Arena (home field for Giants and Jets); 1.5 hours to the Jersey Shore; 2 hours to Atlantic City; 2 hours to the Pocono Mountains; and 2 hours to upstate New York for antiquing, shopping, hiking and skiing.

What is transportation like to the area's major surrounding cities, or within the city?

Our public transportation infrastructure includes trains to Penn Station, NYC, or the Path Train into Hoboken from local stations in Denville, Morristown, Madison, Chatham, Morris Township, Boonton Township and Mountain Lakes.

Is there a strong political presence or community leader involvement in this area?

Every town has a mayor, council, fire department, police department, chamber of commerce, sub-councils for recreation and town projects.

Are there any local traditions that bring the community together? (sports events, charity events, sales, holiday celebrations)?

Denville has parade after Thanksgiving and Kids Night.  Other communities have First Night Celebrations to ring in the New Year; parades, carnivals, 4th of July fireworks; there are numerous charity events throughout the year.  Morris County is a celebration of people.

What major industries are at the core of the job market in this area?

Morris County's economy is extremely diversified and includes large employers in the pharmaceutical, healthcare services, and financial services industries.  Approximately fifty of the nation's Fortune 500 companies are either headquartered or have major facilities in the county.

What are some thriving small local businesses that make an impact in the community?

There are quite a few towns that have a downtown or walk able town with local shops, restaurants, coffee shops, yogurt shops, clothing boutiques, jewelers, farmers markets, and art galleries.  There is a lot of community support of the local markets.
