The highly anticipated Marina Palms Yacht Club and Residences has finally broken ground on its second luxury tower in North Miami Beach, just three weeks following the completion of its first building. Top brokers, city officials, and a mixture of real estate bigwigs gathered to celebrate the event on February 21st.

"Every phase of this project is progressing on schedule," said Anthony Burns, a principal of the DevStar Group, which is developing the project with Neil Fairman and The Plaza Group. "With each milestone, we're closer to bringing this unique, multi-phased development to fruition."

The south tower's site has been graded, and the general contracting company charged with its undertaking—Coastal Construction—has already began mobilizing its troops in order execute the first building stage, which involves site preparation and the employment of augers to drill and install support pilings in order to create the base of the foundation.

The finished north tower—which is already sold out—consists of two-, three-, and four-bedroom havens and will feature a number of luxury amenities including butler service, an infinity-edged pool and hot tub, a state-of-the-art fitness hub, a spa equipped with treatment rooms, a sauna, a news cafe, a club room with a bar, and a children's playroom and teen lounge. Residents will also enjoy secure, gated access with 24-7 valet service.

The south tower—whose sales are currently underway—will boast many of the same perks.

The development's exclusive, full-service yacht club and marina duo—the first of its kind to be built in Miami-Dade in the past 20 years—is currently in the making, is set to be finished by this coming summer. Upon its completion, it will have 112 boat slips designed to accommodate yachts up to 90 feet long.

Marina Palms has attracted a high-profile mix of interested buyers, including champion race-car driver Helio Castroneves, famous for being a three-time winner of the Indianapolis 500. "By living in South Florida you are automatically lured by the ocean. Having a private boat club will make enjoying the water as simple as turning the key, untying the lines, and heading down the Intracoastal," says the Dancing with the Stars champ, who has been a longtime resident of South Florida. "To me, Marina Palms is the perfect destination for anyone who wants to enjoy all that South Florida has to offer."

Though Castroneves has yet to purchase his very own vessel, he—along with other residents who would prefer to avoid the hassles of owning a boat—will still be able to fully enjoy the water and marina by taking advantage of the yacht club, which provides its members with access to a variety of vessels ranging from 23 to 63 feet in length for a one-time fee, allowing them to cruise, fish, and dive along the Intracoastal Waterway, the Atlantic, or Biscayne Bay at their leisure.

The stunning marina will be conveniently outfitted with a fuel station, a marina shop with sundry items, a full-time dock master, and a yacht concierge to arrange vessel cleaning and maintenance, provisioning, and entertainment planning. Marina services will be accessible via MPConnection, and using the custom app and "virtual butler," members and boat owners will be directly connected to the Club's concierge to schedule services, plan excursions, and make reservations.
