The Peters/O’Brien Team’s Guide to the ‘Brooklyn Best’

You can live in New York City all of your life and never do everything there is to do.

We recommend you try something new every week. Open yourself up to more possibilities and to more opportunities. Live well and have an adventurous life.

Below are three of our recommendations for the best spots to find food, adventure, and romance in Brooklyn.

Hunger: Streets BK (53 Broadway in South Williamsburg): This place offers a great blend of local favorite dishes from around the globe, all in one spot. I don’t know about you, but when I travel, I always seek out the locals and ask them where they eat to get a more authentic feel for that culture. Streets BK brings the culture to you. The restaurant has a fantastic presentation and a burst of fun for your taste buds!

Streets Dessert - Apple Pie Eggroll and Cheesecake Fritter

Streets Entree - Churrasco y Papas - Bone in Rib Eye Steak and Fries

Adventure: Brooklyn Bontanic Gardens(150 Eastern Parkway in Prospect Heights): Speaking of buds, it’s almost time for the famed cherry blossom season at Brooklyn Bontanic Gardens. Highlighting the sign that spring returns is the magical cherry blossom festival Sakura Matsuri (April 25-26).

Romance: St. Mazie (345 Grand Street in South Williamsburg): The atmosphere at this bar and supper club is unbelievably charming and reminiscent of the prohibition era. On Friday nights from 11PM to 1AM, Spanish guitar fills the venue and plays host to a fantastic flamenco show.
