The Center for the Arts presents the Fundraising Gala Performance and Dinner on August 18, as dancers from the New York City Ballet return to Jackson Hole. Dancers’ Workshop's annual Fundraising Gala includes a Stars of American Ballet Performance & Dinner. Begin the evening by watching the spectacular performance and cocktails at 6 p.m. Following the performance, join the dancers and influential choreographers, including Christopher Wheeldon and Justin Peck, for dinner, dessert, and dancing.
The Teton County Library exhibits, “Journey Through Yellowstone with David Quammen and National Geographic” on Thursday, August 25 at 6 p.m. at the Center for the Arts. Join best-selling author, David Quammen, and celebrate the National Park Service Centennial by taking a journey through spectacular Yellowstone National Park. Breathtaking images will be presented from Quammen’s new National Geographic book, “Yellowstone: A Journey Through America’s Wild Heart.” Following the presentation, there will be opportunities to ask Quammen questions as well as a book signing. This is a free, non-ticketed event, and doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
Hole Food Rescue organizes the 2nd Annual Community Awareness and Fundraising Event, Half-a-Million Pounds Party on August 30 at 5:30 p.m. in the center theater lobby. This event praises the organization's exertions of keeping 500,000 pounds of food out of the landfill. The evening consists of a community meal made from rescued food that includes a pig roast from Haderlie Farms, raised completely on Hole Food Rescue’s excess food. Following the meal, there will be music, games, raffles, silent auctions, and booths to inform the community on the imperativeness of food waste. There is a $10 suggested donation at the door and all community members are invited.
The Center presents Colvin & Earle on August 28 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $69, plus a $2 Vendini processing fee. Shawn Colvin and Steve Earle’s album presents a remarkably creative and united partnership. Each singer-songwriter contributes verses, melodies, choruses, and chord progressions.
