“Sentinel Pine,” a timeless legacy estate situated on the banks of Flathead Lake in Bigfork, Montana, has been owned by the same family for decades. After 72 years, the residence is now on the market for 6.295 million, Mansion Global reported.
With 2,100 feet of Swan Lake frontage, the 30-acre estate, located just outside of Glacier National Park, has four separate log homes and three guest cabins, able to accommodate a 20 people, the listing states.

The 21-acre parcel would include the log residences, guest cabins, boat dock, beach area, tennis court, caretaker’s home, and maintenance buildings, while the 9-acre parcel would include the newer "Point House," as well as a private entry and, potentially, an additional building site.

Venture capitalist and entrepreneur, Jim McGrath, who is the grandson of JL McLaughlin, a contractor from Great Falls, Montana, owns the property, with some shares owned by others, such as McGrath’s brother John McGrath.
McLaughlin bought the property in 1944 for $30,000, and named it Sentinel Pine to honor an 800-year-old Ponderosa pine tree that grew lakeside.
Tennis Court
He also built much of Glacier National Park’s Going-To-The-Sun Highway, as well as many of the road systems for Yellowstone National Park.
