A Star Is Born And Here To Stay: The Swanky California Home Of Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga was born that way -her way- and by living that truth, she's now able to live in one of the most magnificent mega-mansions in California, inspired by those no-frills homes in Southern France and Tuscany. There are a million reasons to live here, and Gaga knows every one of them.

Gaga's digs span several acres and include a sanctuary-like backyard, a grand staircase, five bedrooms and twelve bathrooms, great views of the Pacific Ocean, a bowling alley, a wine cellar, a horse barn complete with riding area, a saltwater pool with jacuzzi and a home theater. It's situated in the ideal location minutes from Zuma Beach and is rumored to have a secret bat cave with a covert passageway. Needless to say, this sprawling house -formerly owned by Warner Bros Dan Romanelli- is a juggernaut. And it would have to be in order to house popstar royalty like Gaga.

But this not-so-humble abode also offers a vibe of relaxation, stillness and unpretentiousness. The house is nestled away in a relatively nondescript and quiet neighborhood of Malibu. "This is my sanctuary. My oasis of peace," said Gaga. "I call it my 'gypsy palace.'"

It's been four years since Gaga purchased this property, but due to its stable steel serenity and ideal location -apart from the chaos of the city- Lady Gaga has chosen to make this Malibu oasis her primary residence. "I just got rid of my place in New York—it was too hectic every day outside on the street," Gaga recently communicated.

Can you imagine Gaga dressed in a sleeveless black dress by Givenchy that showcases her gorgeous, curvaceous figure? Add in a 60s updo and oversized sunglasses and Gaga is ready to bask in the California sun on her outdoor patio.

Can you imagine Gaga walking up her grand staircase?

Cooking in her over-sized kitchen prior to the Grammy Awards? Or these days, it would most likely be prior to the Academy Awards. All that's missing from Gaga's living space is an Oscar.

Accompany Gaga into her walk-in closet and find racks of designer clothes reminiscent of Gianni Versace in the 90s and other memorabilia such as Gaga's eye-catching hat collection, a massive rack of sunglasses, a tailor-made cape from Alexander McQueen and, in an adjacent chamber, “racks upon racks of leather and feathers and sequins and a lot of black.” There's also that memorable pink fedora Gaga wore in "Joanne."

Once Gaga goes pink, she never goes back. “I like pink,” Gaga said. “It’s a relaxing color.” And her house screams of it—including a pink plush sofa and expansive pink rug.

Gaga's home is a slice of paradise. Imagine how many songs Lady Gaga has written while taking in this view? The setting here undoubtedly is one of inspiration for the music, and now movie legend.

In the past, Lady Gaga has spoken about the artistry she's admired in the late esteemed rocker, David Bowie (think here about Gaga's inspirational tribute to Bowie at the 2016 Grammys). Gaga cherishes her framed letter from Bowie that reads: “Dear Lady, Unfortunately, I will not be in NYC for a few months but many thanks for the cake.” A straightforward, genuine and heartfelt letter. Like Gaga herself.

In the center of Gaga's living room, a serene sitting area that oozes coziness, is an oversized wood coffee table that holds a vase of white orchards and a stack of coffee table books. Every detail connotes luxury and comfort. And class.

The open-plan interior, that combines the living room and kitchen areas, creates a spaciousness that celebrates the natural light and enhances the cozy and comfortable ambiance. Joanne surely hangs out here.

As you know, Lady Gaga is in a lane all by herself and her at-home bowling alley also strikes a solo lane of greatness.

Imagine hanging out with Gaga on game night in her arcade? Just one of the many stellar -and authentic- events held here in Gaga's Malibu sanctuary.

Lady Gaga is a fan of the American contemporary visual artist, George Condo. On display in her home is Condo's monumental painting of a woman dressed in an evening gown with her faced smeared. “Reminds me of myself,” Gaga said. “Beautiful but a little bit messy.” Thankfully, Gaga was born that way. Unapologetically, an imperfect perfect Lady.
