Manhattan Beach is well known for its festive atmosphere. Almost weekly, one will find unique events for holidays, benefits, athletic races and opportunities to give back through community services to various charities.

As the holidays approach, locals gear up for a plethora of events. Those with superior vantage points host incredible parties in their homes for the famous Holiday Fireworks event, and the one with the best balcony-view wins. Host the ultimate Fireworks Party, as local vernacular holds, from the home at 235 4th Street in Manhattan Beach to view the show from multiple outdoor locations in this home; or walk into town for the great “Pumpkin Race” with your custom designed pumpkin in tow.

Check-out this list of some of the seasons most memorable upcoming events:

October:

The 47 Annual Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair will be held October 5th & 6th along Valley/Ardmore in front of Live Oak Park and the Joslyn Center. This all-ages event has something for everyone, a 10K Race, live music, vendor booths, excellent fair food, games benefiting local schools and various charities, bounce houses, animals and the famous adult-only Beer Garden and Wine Garden. Everyone comes out for this event as it sets the stage for a lively end of year in Manhattan Beach.

Kids love the Annual Family Halloween Carnival on October 19, 2019 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Manhattan Heights Park. Leading the Halloween spirit, this event is a fun day of spooky games, tricks and treats, a costume contest and parade, face painting, haunted house and much more. Ideal for ages 2 to 13.

Get your Halloween game face on during the 29th Annual Pumpkin Race hosted by locally based Sketchers on Sunday, October 27th! At this event, kids and adults race a pumpkins on wheels down Manhattan Beach Boulevard to the Manhattan Beach Pier. Creativity and speed abound at this fun event for all ages. Arrive downtown early to enjoy other activities like downtown Trick-Or-Treating at local stores while kiddos (and adults) bounce around in their Halloween costumes.

This is a FREE event and will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at the Manhattan Pier beginning at 12:00 PM.

November:

The 30th Annual Pier Lighting and 25th Annual Holiday Open House will be held Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM in Downtown Manhattan Beach. This will be an evening of sipping and shopping, holiday music and caroling as the Manhattan Beach Pier is lit along with the tree above the RoundHouse Aquarium. The town is charming with all the shops decorated for Christmas, friends are mingling and kids are giggling with the joy of the pending holidays.

December:

The Sandpipers Holiday Home Tour will be held Friday, December 6 - Sunday, December 8, 2019. This festive event is a great way for the curious eye to see gorgeous Manhattan Beach homes decadently decorated for the holidays, while giving back at the same time. Sandpipers is a 100% volunteer local women’s league that raises money for a large list of local and national charities. Tickets go on sale soon at https://sandpipers.org/south-bay-fundraising-events/hht/.

The Annual Fireworks Show and Sketchers Snowpark will be held on December 8th, 2019. The Snow Park offers residents a chance to play in the snow and sled at a temporary Snow Park from 8AM to 5PM. These hours can fluctuate so be sure to check times at www.citymb.org as the date approaches.

The Fireworks Show is open to the public and is set to begin at 7 pm. The show is spectacular with more than $1,000,000 invested in the shimmering ensemble. Beach seating is available though the best views can be had from your own balcony with friends and family at your side.
