For May, embrace the serene beauty of cool tones with a palette of tranquil blues and greens, accented with pops of elegant brass. Start with soft neutrals; I've wrapped the walls in a durable neutral vinyl grasscloth, perfect for homes with small children. Then add a statement wall for a pop of color, in a subtle blue/green to create a calming backdrop. Incorporate brass elements through light fixtures, frames, or decorative accessories for a touch of sophistication and warmth. Enhance the cohesive look with textiles like cushions, throws, and rugs in complementary hues. Balance the cool tones with a mix of materials like wood, marble, metal, and leather, ensuring a harmonious and inviting space. This fresh and stylish palette will transform your home into a serene sanctuary.

For the Ryan Hughes Design team, colors infused into luxury outdoor living spaces are selected to complement natural surroundings or to highlight desired vibes more so than to follow changing trends. “Although annual color selections from the gurus at Pantone can be found as accents within outdoor living designs, the color palette our designers see most preferred falls within what surrounds and complements a home’s exteriors.  A range of colors within the palette of cool to vibrant blues and greens never goes out of style,” said Ryan Hughes, president/creative director. “These colors also are preferred by luxury clientele due to the need for generational enjoyment.”  Within all-glass tile surface designs and wall or pool mosaic artwork, blue tones in the latest shades of translucent to near-black are being creatively used as well as appearing in furnishings or shade products. From demure to deep, green hues can make a statement when incorporated into creative elements including man-made succulent walls to bright geometric turf designs.
