Most men would think twice about a $60 million purchase after going through a $110 million divorce but, needless to say, Tiger Woods is in a different realm than “most men.” Originally, the 10-acre Jupiter Island, FL home was purchased for $44.5 million before being torn down and re-built. The spot was supposed to be the Woods’ new family home but now, it is the ultimate and most lavish bachelor pad for the golfing legend to kick back and work on his game.
After his divorce, Tiger Woods completely re-vamped the planning that he had done with ex-wife Elin Nordegren and saw to it that the new plans fit his new bachelor lifestyle. The 10,000-square-foot mansion is surrounded by tall trees and high boundary walls to ensure the pro’s privacy, and sits on the Atlantic coast of the state with a pair of boat docks for Tiger Woods yacht, the "Privacy." Features of the 155 foot mansion include massive windows to allow for the breathtaking ocean views, a glass-front elevator, a huge master bedroom – with his and hers bathrooms still intact – and three additional bedrooms suites, a large wine cellar, and a cinema and game room still possibly in the works.
Surrounding the main house are a boathouse, a large guesthouse, a stand-alone garage, a tennis court, gym, diving pool and lap lane, a 100-foot running track and Tiger’s own personal golf training studio, of which every aspect was personally overseen by Tiger himself. Describing it as “phenomenal,” the golf great has been very excited about his new project. The training course features four greens with six bunkers, each with different depths and types of sand. For some fun, the facility is set up so Tiger can also hit shots out of his second-story studio. To really perfect his game, Woods also chose to include in the training area a video center and putting studio. On his blog, Tiger said, “My swing is still a work in progress, and it takes time to get comfortable with everything. It’s hard to implement all these changes. I just have to keep moving forward.” With his sprawling new, personalized oceanfront golf course, we’re sure he’ll do just that.
