Fashion designer Monique Lhuillier graced the Fall/Winter 2014 runway at Lincoln Center on February 8th, 2014 with a sense of gothic glamour, building on her usual lineup of ethereal garments with an added edge of dark fabrics, lace and strong lines.
Lhuillier offered designs with intricate details (beading, pebbled textures) and contrasted soft, silky fabrics with strong-shouldered jackets, crisp necklines, fringe and belting. While the majority of the show featured dark hues, Lhuillier also added bright whites and pinks.
From a design standpoint, Lhuillier focused in on accentuating what may be smaller details in other designs, bringing them to the forefront of her luxurious garments.
Lace
Lhuillier used lace in her designs, most often to create strong contrast. In the garments below, she layers dark lace over light fabrics. Lace can be used in your home in a variety of ways (don't worry, it's not just for grandma):

Intricate beading in her aesthetic stands out tremendously as a collection theme. Lhuillier decked out the majority of several dresses using this effect, and beading fortunately translates well to a variety of custom home décor selections– check out some of our ideas below:
