Late abstract artist Sam Francis was renowned for his painting and print work, even showing at The Met. This Santa Monica residence, referred to fondly as “The Oasis,” once housed the artist, and the space has been listed for around $18.7M.

The Oasis offers both home and art studio, manmade waterfalls and Japanese gardens and a compound of two homes with a total of eight bedrooms and 13 bathrooms.

The structure itself was designed by architect Christopher Sorensen, and it offers custom 500-year-old Teak flooring, Asian-inspired designs and luxirious hand-carved stone baths.
