A Sonoma County wine country estate owned by Academy Award winner Robert Stromberg has been listed on the market at $4,300,000 and is represented exclusively by Dave Carpenter of Coldwell Banker Realty. A well-known art director, Stromberg has worked on numerous Hollywood blockbuster movies and won Academy Awards for Best Art Direction on Avatar and Alice in Wonderland, and has worked on many notable projects including Maleficent, Game of Thrones, and Guardians of the Galaxy.

The Mediterranean-style estate was built in 2006 on a ridge with more than five acres of lush terrain and featuring soaring redwood trees. The single-level home boasts over 6,300 square feet of spacious living, including five bedrooms and six bathrooms as well as a one-bedroom guest house on the property.

The heart of this home is the private movie screening room, where Stromberg has spent many hours. “My favorite part of this home is obviously the screening room, where I found much of my inspiration for my works and enjoyed time with friends and family. This home offers privacy and a tranquil setting that we have cherished over the years,” said Stromberg.

The home also includes many elegant features such as the grand glass and metal front doors and an entryway flanked with marble columns and a custom chandelier. The centerpiece of the large roundabout driveway is a stunning Italian fountain and the surrounding meticulous landscaping. Throughout the grounds are several outdoor dining patios, private gardens, and a trail leading to a secluded redwood grove.

“This custom home has been thoughtfully designed to enjoy the breathtaking views and the gorgeous grounds, for which Sonoma County is famous. The quality and finishes of the home’s construction are evident throughout, from the imported travertine to the oversized, arched windows,” said Dave Carpenter.

The kitchen features marble countertops and high-end appliances and is open to the large living room with a custom curved ceiling. The home also has a wine room with a several hundred bottle capacity which is located next to the formal dining room. The primary bedroom has a gas fireplace, exercise room, luxurious bath, and large closet space.
