Curbed have reported that R&B singer-songwriter Alicia Keys and her producer husband Swizz Beatz have purchased a $12 million New Jersey estate. The superstar couple purchased the home from comedian Eddie Murphy. Located in Englewood, N.J., the 25,000-square-foot estate boasts seven bedrooms, a recording studio, a two-lane bowling alley, an indoor pool, a billiards room, a spa, and a tennis court. Murphy's 30-room mansion was on the market for close to eight years before Keys made her offer.
"The closing has been delayed for months but they're almost there," said a local real estate source to NY Daily News. "When she closes, she'll buy the two-acre lot behind the house, too." Sometimes good things come to those who wait; Michele Kolsky of Coldwell Bankers said; "This is the closest mileage to New York City for anyone on Wall St. or in the music industry. It may not be as pretty as Greenwich, but only here can you have a house like this, come home to tuck your kids in bed and be back in the city 20 minutes later."
