This incredible home doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it’s interior is highly unusual (and incredibly stunning). We’ll warn you, though…it’s not entirely practical.
Glass floors in the structure’s interior create no boundaries between floors and rooms (as an example, you may look down from your dining table into a washroom). The Chinese firm Atelier FCJZ designed Vertical Glass House for a design competition, and now the studio is built as an extension of West Bund Biennale of Architecture and Contemporary Art. Today, the building serves as a guesthouse for visiting artists/architects, according to Dezeen.
Project Architect Lu Bai comments, “With enclosed walls and transparent floors as well as roof, the house opens to the sky and the earth, positions the inhabitant right in the middle, and creates a place for meditation.” What do you think? Could you enjoy living in a glass house?
