Haute Residence continued its industry-leading webinar series on the latest in real estate with a talk about Blue Wellness-oriented architecture, natural amenities and skin-care, and the healthful benefits of living by the ocean, especially at 57 Ocean.

Marcelo Kingston, Developer of 57 Ocean, Bernardo Fort-Brescia, FAIA, international award-winning architect and founding Principal of Arquitectonica, Dr. Wallace "J" Nichols, Marine Biologist and Author of best-selling book Blue Mind, and Vivien Sylvester, Co-founder and Creative Director of One Ocean Beauty (which will operated out of the 57 Ocean private spa when the building opens next year), were hosted by Haute Living's April Donelson.

The talk included an introduction by Kingston, who presented the Blue Wellness to be found at 57 Ocean, the boutique, luxury condominium currently under construction on Millionaire's Row between Atlantic Heights and Mid-Beach in Miami Beach.

Highlights from today's webinar:

Marcelo Kingston: "The ocean was always a big reference for us, in driving and creating a sense of place; how it feels to live by the water, how that beautiful ocean in front of us can really improve lives. By bringing (in) Bernardo, we're not only bringing a global perspective of architecture and design, but the local context of how you really eliminate or blur those boundaries that separate indoor and outdoor spaces. I think the balconies at 57 Ocean are a statement. You've never seen any project in Miami where you have 12-foot balconies wrapping up the whole building and truly extending the indoor leaving to the outdoors."

Bernardo Fort-Brescia, FAIA: "When they (57 Ocean residents) open those doors into the terrace, they will feel the outdoors where they can furnish it and live outside. They actually can live outside. A project like this is responding to a new period in the way people evaluate a place where to live. A customer who thinks it should be expected to appreciate those terraces and how wide and deep they are. They're not just there for symbolic gesture of having a terrace so you can check the box. "

Dr. Wallace "J" Nichols: "chemical, number one source of awe, exciting, sets foot inside... water is the number one way to move into that blue mind state. What we mean by blue mind is that mildly meditative state of mind that makes us feel cool, calm connected, creative, sometimes courageous, and compassionate. It's a time when we get our best ideas. Architects, artists and musicians throughout all history have said that walking by the water, looking at the water is when (they) got (their) 'aha' moments and (they) need to write them down."

Vivien Sylvester: "We used packaging that can be recycled, single cell, looking good, simplification of things... We use packaging that can be recycled and we reproduce all marine actives naturally through blue bio-technology in the lab. We're able to take a single cell, take it back to the lab and regrow it through by bio-fermentation versus harvesting large amounts of products out of the ocean. Our products are about looking good, feeling good, and doing good."
