Alexis Adler and Christie's partnered on February 28th to celebrate the life and work of Jean-Michel Basquiat through an impressive exhibit in Rockefeller Center. With the help of Adler, a collection of 50 works from Basquiat's East Village apartment will be shown publicly and 41 will subsequently be sold in a dedicated online sale from March 3rd to March 17th. A product of graffiti and street culture, Basquait spent most of his time pre-fame decorating his NYC apartments.

"Sometimes I'd go to step out of bed and the floor would be covered in paint!" comments Adler.

Basquiat's selection consists of painted clothing (which he reportedly would just sell to buy more paint), drawings, paintings, notes and more. His wall painting entitled Olive Oyl, door painting entitled Untitled (Famous Negro Athletes) and painting on a radiator entitled Milk will be offered for sale on March 6th.
