Haute Living recently hosted an exclusive Haute Leaders Dinner at Reserve Cut, a distinguished contemporary kosher steakhouse in New York City’s Financial District. The event brought together a prominent guest list, offering a unique blend of fine dining and networking in one of the city’s premier dining destinations.
Known for its inventive cuisine and refined atmosphere, Reserve Cut is helmed by Albert Allaham, a master butcher with a storied heritage of over 200 years in the butchery trade. His lineage, rooted in Damascus, Syria, has brought forth a legacy of exceptional meat craftsmanship, now showcased at both Reserve Cut and his high-end meat market, The Prime Cut.
The evening unfolded with a meticulously crafted menu that reflected Reserve Cut’s commitment to culinary excellence. Guests were greeted with a selection of family-style salads, including a vibrant heirloom tomato salad featuring yuzu avocado remoulade, cured smoked bacon, white asparagus, and microgreens.
As the appetizers arrived, the air was filled with the delightful aromas of satay chicken spring rolls accompanied by a chili coconut peanut butter sauce and short rib tacos with hickory smoked prime beef and grilled pineapple salsa. These dishes set the stage for an exceptional dining experience, emphasizing Reserve Cut’s knack for combining traditional kosher fare with modern flair.
For the main course, attendees chose from an array of expertly prepared entrees. Options included the succulent 14 oz RC filet mignon, the flavorful wild Atlantic salmon with seasoned vegetables, or the comforting tagliatelle truffle and mushrooms featuring a medley of shiitake, porcini, and oyster mushrooms paired with black truffle. The menu also highlighted free-range chicken breast as a delicious alternative.
The dinner was complemented by family-style sides of stir-fried string beans and roasted garlic mashed potatoes, providing a satisfying balance to the rich and varied main courses. To conclude the evening, guests enjoyed a selection of desserts, each crafted with the same care and creativity that characterized the entire meal.
Notable attendees included Dr. Marianna Farber, Dr. Brian Levine, Dr. Michael Gartner, Lindy Nguyen, Dr. Mimi Yeung, and Dr. Anna Avaliani.
