In a recent edition of the Haute Design Webinar series, Elizabeth Cinquini took a moment from her demanding schedule to speak with Haute Living Co-Founder Seth Semilof. Their engaging discussion delves into Elizabeth's impressive journey as an interior designer, tracing her path from her early days in New York to becoming the founder of Elizabeth Cinquini Interiors in Naples, Florida. Today, Elizabeth stands as a pioneer in the field, offering a unique blend of creativity, inspiration, and outstanding success to her clients, distinguishing her from the average interior designer.

Seth Semilof: If someone asked you what your style is, how would you explain your style?

Elizabeth Cinquini: My style is a bit more eclectic. It's timeless, it mixes in a few different styles. So it's a little bit mid century modern. It's a little bit contemporary. It's a little bit vintage, but I design around the client so I get to know them. And then I figure out what their style is, because a lot of the time they don't know. But I'm never gonna do anything that's just modern, or that's just contemporary, because to me I need to layer in other elements to make it interesting and feel curated and special. I never want to design something that looks like it could be anywhere else. It's always gonna a wow.

Seth Semilof: Can you walk us through a typical project, from initial concept to completion? What are some of the key steps and considerations that you do as an interior designer for your clients.

Elizabeth Cinquini: My main projects are mostly custom built homes and full large renovations. So I always tell the clients it's important to have me as the designer involved from the very beginning, before you hire an architect, or your contractor, because my main role is to be the advocate for the client. I'm gonna get to know them. I'm gonna find out about their life, their family life, their work life, how they need their home to function. And that is how I'm gonna help them create the best possible design for them. And then I am with them from the initial process of space planning and design through architectural plans, through the construction process all the way to completely furnishing it, art on the walls is completely turnkey. All they have to do is move in. So I make it as simple and stress free as possible.

Seth Semilof: How has the move to Naples influenced your design style, plus your business operations compared to your time in New York?

Elizabeth Cinquini: So obviously here it's completely different from New York. In New York we have a slab of concrete in our backyard. Here everything is really centered around the exterior. So what I love about the homes here, when you open the front door you have a beautiful entry. It opens up into your main living area, and you can see straight out to your backyard, your pool, your palm trees. So it's really about that indoor outdoor living which we did not have in New York. So it's very inspiring and creative. It's a really creative place for me to design these beautiful interiors that are inside and outside and just creating an overall, peaceful environment. Because your living environment literally affects everything in your life. So it's really important to have a beautiful design that you love, and you feel comfortable in.
