The widow of former Time Warner CEO Steve Ross is selling two duplex apartments on Park Avenue that together total more than 30 rooms and priced at $60 million combined.
If $60 million is too much for your budget, the apartments are also being sold separately (one for $25 million, the other for $35 million). The duplexes have access to each other but can be used separately if the buyer desires. The luxury apartments are located in one of the most coveted addresses in New York City: 740 Park Avenue, an address that has houses famous figures like John D. Rockefeller, Vera Wang and Jacqueline Kennedy.
The apartments are located on the 13th and 14th floors of the 19-story co-op building, which was designed by architect Rosario Candela. The co-op board is known to be extremely picky and according to some reports, they have turned down many interested buyers, including Joan Crawford.
The building is famous for its architecture, which according to City Realty includes a Classicism façade, limestone exterior, granite doorways and separate wine cellars.
One of the apartments for sale features four bedrooms each with their own walk-in closets, a grand staircase, wood-burning fireplaces and even a marble gallery. Of course there are also staff quarters and a butler’s pantry along with a breakfast room, kitchen, living room, library, dining room and powder room, according to listing agent Sotheby’s.
