Patience is a virtue. And singer Billy Joel has been patient while listing his La Gorce mansion, which sold for only $1 million less than the $14.75 million asking price. “A lot of people took a look,” said listing agent Jorge Uribe earlier this year when the going was a little slower. But Joel had reason to wait having paid $13,575,000 for the house at the top of the market in 2006. It was also rumored that Joel still enjoyed using the house and wasn't in any particular hurry to sell. One Sotheby's Pier Paolo Visconi represented the buyer, whose name still remains under wraps. The house has 7 bedrooms and 9 baths, spectacular outdoor and outdoor kitchens, an elevator, an ivy-covered 4-car garage, and a 150 feet of wide, waterfront views.
