When he's not on film sets, Hugh Jackman can often be seen running along Bondi Beach to stay fit. He retreats to the sun-drenched area so frequently that he and his wife Debora-Lee Furness purchased a $6-million penthouse beach retreat on Ramsgate Avenue.

The beachfront getaway designed by SJB Architects has only six units and a discreet elevator entrance from the basement parking area into the low-rise luxury apartment.

Three bedrooms and two baths are spread out over a modern floor plan that features angled marble walls in the living, dining, and galley-style kitchen. Pocket doors on every side wall allow Pacific breezes to come through while providing dramatic ocean views. There are also six balcony decks off the master and ensuites with beautiful glass balustrades.

The pad's magnificent views were certainly a big draw, but Aussie-born Jackman also loves the active lifestyle at Bondi where he can play in the surf or jog the beach with friends and family. Back in 2016, his dedication to working out paid off, when he saved his son, Oscar and several other swimmers from a strong rip current.

Jackman's last trip to Bondi was in December where he and co-star, Zac Efron hit the beach and gym together leading up to the Australian premiere of their film The Greatest Showman.

Bondi Beach is a top Australia tourist destination with its active beach lifestyle, two cliffside walking paths, a great selection of casual and fine dining restaurants, plenty of annual music and art festivals, and designer shops along Gould Street offering Helmut Lang, Alexander Wang, and Rag and Bone among other wares by Australia's favorite local designers.

Jackman likes hanging out on Bondi whenever he can get away, but a prime time to visit is in March where temperatures are a little cooler and the beach is less crowded.
