Louis Vuitton’s Objets Nomades Debuts New Pieces At Palazzo Serbelloni For Fuorisalone 2019

For this year’s Fuorisalone at Palazzo Serbelloni in Milan, Louis Vuitton exclusively debuted 10 new pieces as part of its Objets Nomades, which first launched in 2012. The new pieces—as part of a 45-piece collection—are travel-inspired, and the House collaborates with two new studios, Atelier Biagetti and Zanellato/Bortotto.

Atelier Biagetti is a Milan-based company and is the creative behind the Anemone—the glass-topped table with an eye-catching mixture soft beige leather and deep-blue Louis Vuitton lacquer. The tripartite screen made of woven leather called Mandala is designed by Zanellato/Bortotto, using Venetian lagoon-inspired coloring. There are also some familiar designers in the mix as part of the collection, including the Campana Brothers’ Bulbo—a cocoon-like seat—and Atelier Oï’s Serpentine dining table—a foldable style with criss-cross legs and blue Louis Vuitton leather.

Other pieces include Dolls by Raw Edges, which are customizable chairs that can be hand-painted with different designs, similar to the traditional Louis Vuitton trunks, as well as Marcel Wanders’ Diamond Sofa and Armchair; Venezia; and Diamond Vase—a handblown vase made of red Murano glass, suspended in leather straps. The Talisman Tray by India Mahdavi is also part of the collection, as is Tokujin Yoshioka’s Blossom Vase, boasting an LV Monogram-inspired pattern and Murano glass.

Coinciding with the Objets Nomades pieces at Palazzo Serbelloni is Louis Vuitton’s presentation of Shigeru Ban’s Temporary Paper Structure, also during Fuorisalone. The house previously worked with Ban in 2006 for the Icônes exhibition, where he created a structure inspired by the Papillon bag in a dome-like shape at the Maison Champs-Elysées in Paris. Temporary Paper Structure was on display at the Palazzo’s courtyard.
