I was thrilled to be the listing broker for this home, sold back in May 2014. With such a prime lot location and historical ties to the area, it was easy to see the potential for its future redevelopment of what was and will always be an iconic Vail residence.

With one of the two largest lots in the Vail golf course area and the most impressive direct views of the Gore Range mountains that overlook the Vail golf course of any home in Vail, it was clear why this location was the first lot and filling in the Vail area. That very lot, now 1183 Cabin Circle, used to be home to the Pulis Cabin, which was built in 1941 on a 160-acre ranch and then owned by the Pulis family, who were from Denver. The Pulis family bought the ranch adjacent to the Anholtz property in 1940, and later worked out a long-term lease with the town of Vail that allowed the golf course to be built. The Pulis family sold off lots that would become golf course-side properties.

In order for the Pulis cabin to be preserved, it was relocated to East Vail, and a new home was erected in its place during the 1960s. That property was later remodeled in the 1980s and thereafter by the Hoverstein’s. The home was eventually purchased in 2007 by my clients, and I sold it for them in 2014. The Buyer’s interest was lead by Scott Turnipseed, a local renowned architect. His team learned of the unique lot that was available to purchase and swung into action. They spent several hours on site coming up with the vision for the current redevelopment plan. Scott’s vision includes taking advantage of every single opportunity the land and location was destined for.

This amazing home is under construction now and is scheduled for completion for the summer of 2016 with no details overlooked. Awe-inspiring, gun barrel Gore Range views overlooking the Vail Golf course provide the backdrop for this six-bedroom, nine-bath Vail golf course home, designed and built by Turnipseed.

Cascading water features, mountain modern interior design, receding glass walls, magnificent outdoor spaces, recreation room with full bar, a two-bedroom guest residence, and state-of-the-art systems will make this one of the most iconic homes available to own in Vail.

One very fortunate family will have the rare opportunity to own the best location in Vail on a private cul-de-sac with incredible views and near some of the most well-known, longtime local families. Enjoy beautiful strolls to Ford Park in the summer for concerts and festivals and the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, and take advantage of the close proximity to the Village for skiing, shopping, dining, fly fishing, hiking, and anything else you can think of. With the bike path right outside your door, you are moments away from what this exceptional town has to offer and despite being just a short walk or bike ride to Vail Village, you can also hop on the free shuttle, and in just two stops, be dropped off and picked up right at the slopes.
