The highest-paid player on the Los Angeles Clippers roster, DeAndre Jordan has recently listed his ultra-modern Malibu home for $6.5 million.

Rising at the end of its own driveway in the gated Serra Retreat enclave, the 4.600-square foot house comes back on the market only 14 months since Jordan claimed his own share of the paradisal area that has enticed celebrities for decades.

"Malibu is the preferred location because it’s a quiet seaside town located 30 minutes north of Los Angeles, so celebrities can feel like they are escaping to their own private oasis where no one will bother them," said Wendy Carroll, luxury real estate agent with Westside Estate Agency Malibu. "As they drive up the coast or drive down the canyon they automatically feel bliss and happiness and leave all worries behind. It’s an addicting place to reside, visit or just breathe in the air."

Jordan, however, seems eager to flip the abode rather than join the cohorts of celebrity Malibu residents.

Constructed in 1980, the two-story residence has undergone an extensive renovation, which has brought forward an understated contemporary aesthetic that facilitates indoor/outdoor living. Pocket doors, which punctuate floor-to-ceiling windows, open to a covered patio and a swimming pool with a spa.

The manicured backyard invites entertainment on the dramatic backdrop of the Santa Monica Mountains and amid the seclusion of lush vegetation. The interior, an eclectic mix of design influences, is equally impressive. The 5-bedroom, 5-bathroom abode boasts an open-floor plan, which blends man-cave hallmarks with formal spaces.

The beamed-ceiling living room, for instance, comes with a large Ping-Pong table and a cheeky sketch of Batman, of whom Jordan is a self-proclaimed superfan. Batman references can also be found in the home theater, whose plush purple walls carry various movie posters.

While the minimalist kitchen exudes European-inspired refinement with its white surfaces and wood elements, many details around the half-acre property seem to contrast this pared-down sophistication with what can easily be cues to Jordan’s lively personality. A giant teddy bear reclines in the home theater; a faux zebra-fur rug stretches on the floor of the master suite; a teepee and a playground slide rest in the yard; a rustic bar spills beer on tap, while a child-sized "time-out" chair encourages responsible consumption.

The 6-foot-11 NBA player might be lighthearted at home, but on the basketball court he means nothing but business. Drafted in 2008, and having spent much of his first two seasons with the Clippers on the bench, today, the 29-year old is the most accurate shooter in the history of the NBA.

The home is listed with Jordan Cohen of Re/Max Olson & Associates Inc.
