How has the luxury real estate market in your market been performing so far in 2020?

Across our four offices, we have seen great performance in the Luxury Market thus far. These high-performing markets include San Antonio, New Braunfels and Boerne.

Many of our agents have shared that they have clients searching for homes from $600K to $1.3M throughout San Antonio including Alamo Heights, Monte Vista, Terrell Hills and Olmos Park (highly desirable suburbs within the heart of San Antonio).

What are buyers looking for in their homes in your market in 2020?

Items that set apart a home include award-winning design, decked out casitas and the ability for overnight rental. Many agents mention that buyers are looking for flex-use spaces that may accommodate not only short term rentals but perhaps a unique family situation. Our agents have noticed a theme within desirable décor is peaceful, calming colors in a very neutral palette (shades of white and pale blues). Of course, buyers are always looking for a home loaded with amenities. And finally, location is almost always the deciding factor.

Are there any new restaurants or other spots in your market you’ve been loving lately?

A more recent mecca for fine dining, the renovated and repurposed Pearl Brewery is now a haven for fantastic shopping, dining as well as a gorgeous weekend farmer’s market, right in the heart of San Antonio. A few of these great restaurants include Supper (at Hotel Emma), Cured, and Southerleigh Fine Food and Brewery.
