There are plans in place to introduce the world’s first underwater luxury hotel. Construction has already begun on the Planet Ocean Underwater Hotel.
Not only is the unique hotel expected to reach 28 feet under the sea, but according to Express.co.uk, it is will also be able to “navigate ocean waters using electromechanical propulsion technology.” This will allow it to stay clear of any water related disasters, like hurricanes.
The luxury hotel will be located deep beneath the crystal-clear waters of a Caribbean island nation and will supposedly have a positive impact on the areas set to host it. “The philanthropic goal is to give back to the planetary community through Biorock coral reef restoration of the world’s endangered coral reefs,” says Tony Webb, who designed the hotel that he refers to as “inner space tourism.”
Owning a part of the luxury underwater hotel will come with a hefty price tag. Three million dollars is needed to purchase a single unit, while the Planet Ocean Underwater Hotel in its entirety can be purchased for $20 million.
