With a generous $2 million donation from residential property developer MG Developer, Baptist Health Foundation unveils their plans for The Village at Coral Gables, a collection of wellness-focused residences.

Since 1949, Baptist Health Doctors Hospital has served as a world-class hospital promoting healthcare excellence within the Coral Gables community and beyond. Recognized as a Magnet hospital for nursing, the renowned institution offers general and specialized services, including orthopedics, cardiac care, pulmonary care, geriatric medicine, sports medicine and cardiology, and robotic and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. The 49,000-square-foot facility features a state-of-the-art intensive care unit with a vast range of outpatient diagnostic services. Further, its emergency department presents an innovative, technology-driven approach to medicine. Recognized by the U.S. News & World Report as a High-Performing hospital, the health center is also home to the Miami HEAT Sports Medicine Center at Baptist Health Orthopedic Institute.

In generous support of the Baptist Health Foundation, prominent residential developer MG Developer has made a $2 million donation to the organization. As a leading donor, MG Developer will help establish The Village at Coral Gables, a wellness-conscious and lifestyle-focused community.

The Village at Coral Gables is a 48-residence collection of townhomes, lofts, villas, and flats thoughtfully located in the residential heart of the city. Paying homage to Coral Gables founder George Merrick, this initiative serves as a continuation of his vision of themed villages throughout Coral Gables. The project draws inspiration from the aesthetic beauty and lifestyle of Seville, Spain, while boasting Mediterranean-revival style architecture. As part of the donation, residents at The Village will have the honor of being recognized as members of Baptist Health’s “Giving Society,” a distinguished group highlighting community philanthropy to elevate the local standard of living.

Alex Villoch, CEO of Baptist Health Foundation, shares, “This donation allows Baptist Health Doctors Hospital to have the resources it needs to provide exceptional care to patients and their families while promoting healthy lifestyles and offering an additional benefit for residents of The Village.” With the growing support of the community’s outstanding resources, The Village at Coral Gables is slated for completion by Q2 of 2025.
