This program features two works by Joseph Haydn written in the 1780s. First up is Haydn’s Cello Concerto in D, featuring Icelandic cellist Sæunn Thorsteindóttir. After, the Academy Orchestra will play Haydn’s Symphony 87 in A, the last of the “Paris” symphonies.

This program features two works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Oboist Nathan Hughes starts off as soloist in Mozart’s Oboe Concerto in C, K.314. The program concludes with the Academy Orchestra playing the rarely heard original version of Mozart’s Symphony 40 in G minor, K.550.

This program begins with British composer Lennox Berkeley’s Windsor Variations, a work written for the Windsor Festival in 1969. It is a theme with seven variations written for the identical sized orchestra as this summer's LTMF Academy Orchestra. Next is Antonin Dvořák’s Silent Woods, featuring Icelandic cellist Sæunn Thorsteindóttir. Then, there is the premiere performance of Truckee resident David Nelson’s Sketch Number 1 for Strings, written for the the LTMF Academy Orchestra. Next, there will be three of the LTMF wind players, flutist Caitrine Massoud playing John Corigliano’s Voyage, and bassoonists Georgeanne Banker and Robyn Watson playing Vanhal’s Concerto for Two Bassoons. The program ends with Lake Tahoe Dance Collective dancing to music from Haydn’s Symphony 87, with a special guest from the New Chamber Ballet of New York City.
