As you cruise your way down the palm tree lined streets and meticulously manicured lawns of Vero Beach’s private Windsor community, you’ll notice each home shares a unique design. With all of the rare home finds in the private sporting club community, you may think it’s hard to stand out. If that's the case, think again. Or, just think like Rod Mickley of Rod Mickley Interiors.
Home to many award-winning interiors, Rod and Lyra Mickley established Rod Mickley Interiors in 1987. Over many years of success, the duo has created the leading Vero Beach-based interior design company. The design team is deeply inspired by the coastal narratives and refreshing spaces with casual yet fun fabrics and comfortable furnishings which are seen throughout all of their designs.
Recently completed in the summer of 2022, the Windsor Fairway Garden home has been completely reimagined. The design project was happily handed over to the team at Rod Mickley Interiors, taking on the task from start to finish. The traditional, colonial home is now a mid-century modern masterpiece.

Mickley’s strategy included taking advantage of some of the home’s greatest features. Highlighting the exceptionally high ceilings and large windows, the team painted the entire home white. While welcoming an open concept and brightness into the room, with the newly painted walls enabled features of exuberant pops of color, patterns, and artwork. Special signature furniture pieces belonging to the homeowners were also incorporated into the newly curated space along with a large art collection. Notable works by artists Ronnie Landfield and Johann Lykke can be appreciated throughout the home.
All trust was instilled within the design team to perfect the home’s reverse living style. The living room upstairs was designed to serve as the home’s focal point. With a bold black and white theme, bright primary colors were used to accentuate the space even further. Other unique pieces such as the wood-framed sofa and patterned cushions made the space feel whole, tied together by bronze, plaster, and lucite accents throughout.
